During Indigenous Peoples鈥 Month, the UK 91小黄车 is highlighting historical figures who paved the way for an equitable future in medicine.

For the second consecutive year, the 91小黄车 has received the 2022 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.

To enable the 91小黄车 to succeed in its mission for a healthier Kentucky, leadership must prioritize the wellness and well-being of faculty, staff, and learners. Lisa Williams, MSSA, is serving in the college鈥檚 new leadership position, associate dean for wellness and well-being, to help us excel in this goal.

One of the newest research teams within the University of Kentucky鈥檚 Alliance Research Initiative wants to make UK 鈥渢he center of the universe鈥 when it comes to an innovative cancer treatment.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 17, 2021) 鈥斺 The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center launched a new initiative to create a connected, integrated statewide cancer provider network.

The innate ability of Cody Bumgardner, PhD, to work with computer systems was evident in high school. Computers were being installed in one of his school鈥檚 first computer labs, and when workers unboxed the systems and left for lunch, he snuck into the lab and installed the hardware by the time they returned.

The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center鈥檚 Department of Radiation Medicine recently completed a major renovation, including the installation of new cutting-edge technology.
The renovation includes a new Halcyon treatment system (the latest Varian linear accelerator platform), computerized tomography scanning on rails integrated into a new centrally located brachytherapy suite, expanded conference room, and an expansion/redesign of the reception area.
